Alpha-Liberty Company Balance and Scale Calibration

Calibration

Every balance, scale and measuring device requires calibration, maintenance, and occasional repair to sustain a high level of accuracy and functionality. If the balance is not accurate, all data related to weight-prepared standards will contain the same degree of error. Balance or scale calibration is essential to achieve accurate weighing results.

Alpha-Liberty’s expertly trained technicians provides onsite calibration service and support of equipment ranging from heavy duty industrial scales in harsh environments to high precision laboratory balances in controlled environments.

Alpha-Liberty’s standard calibration services include:Alpha Liberty Scale Calibration Lab

  • NIST traceable calibration weights,
  • Quantity discounts on two or more units,
  • Calibration sticker,
  • Annual, semiannual, quarterly, bimonthly, and monthly service schedule,
  • General cleaning of instrument,
  • Fast turnaround on repairs, and
  • Loaner balance or scale available while your unit is repaired.

Our services are performed professionally and to customer satisfaction, guaranteed.

Alpha-Liberty is ISO/IEC 17025:2017 accredited by ANAB, the most rigorous quality standard in the measurement industry worldwide. We offer accredited calibration parameters with the highest tolerances for a variety of instruments. Our calibration weights and procedural standards are traceable to the SI through NIST.

Certificates & Documentation

Scale and balance servicesA Certificate of Calibration is an official document of record for instrument calibration and provides traceability to the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST).

Alpha-Liberty offers ISO/IEC 17025:2017 compliant Certificates to fit your company’s quality and documentation requirements. Our certificates report results of the balance or scale readings at the time the calibration was performed and compares them to a reference value traceable to NIST. In addition to issuing a Certificate of Calibration, Alpha-Liberty affixes calibration stickers to your equipment at the time of calibration.

Importance of Calibration

The accuracy of balances and scales becomes less reliable over time. This is the result of normal wear and tear caused by regular use, environment, and other external factors. Periodically scheduled balance calibration in combination with frequent routine testing greatly enhances the life of your balance or scale and its weighing accuracy.

Calibration is a quantitative comparison. To check the reading of a balance or scale, a reference weight is placed on the weighing pan. The error is defined as the difference between the measured value (the reading) and the true value (the reference weight).
