Why “Intrinsically” Safe?
All Sartorius Ex scales are manufactured to intrinsically safe standards. This simply means scales are incapable of releasing sufficient energy to ignite explosive material in the environment. Intrinsically safe devices are extremely easy to install requiring no special rooms, housing or even rigid conduit for AC power connection. Choose between safe area or hazardous area power supplies (PMA-X uses safe area supply only) making your installation even easier without disruption to workflow or costly construction projects.
Maximum Accuracy
Safety has not compromised accuracy. Up to 640,000 steps of external weighing resolution provide the capacity and readability of two traditional scales in one. Further enhancing your weighing procedure are 14 built-in application programs. Compound mixtures, count components, check material density or collect statistical data directly on the scale. Transmit data to computers or printers located in the safe area.

Meeting the most stringent Factory Mutual and CSA standards for hazardous area operation, Sartorius FCA-X scales will keep you protected and accurate. These intrinsically safe models can be operated with confidence around explosive dust, liquids and vapors.

Even the displays are backlit for clear viewing in the often dark hazardous environments.

At Sartorius safe design equals rugged design. Every FCA-X scale incorporates a stainless steel weighing platform and a 100% cast aluminum housing. All scales are rated IP65 for dust and water protection. Display keyboards are sealed to prevent hazardous material from entering the scale housing.
